The Twin Towers were blown up in a cascading, floor by floor, from the top down demolition, like lighting a pack of firecrackers.
Even if the floors which had fire had gotten hot enough to weaken the steel in those areas, and those floors collapsed, the collapse wouldn't have proceeded any further. Because the floors below, which were not heated or weakened and were progressively larger and stronger structurally, would have stopped the collapse. It couldn't happen. Even if it could have (it could not), it would have taken minutes, not seconds, because every floor would have presented resistance and slowed the collapse until it stopped. Just like stepping on the brakes in your car.
The Twin Towers were 110 stories tall. They came down in ten seconds each. That is eleven floors per second. Try to clap your hands eleven times in one second. It is physically impossible to have a gravitational collapse at that speed. The speed of the collapse is key. Imagine an eleven story building disintegrating into a cloud of dust in one tick of a clock. It cannot happen unless it is blown up. Explosives were used. Which begs the question, "Who could have had that kind of access to the buildings?"

The towers were 1350 and 1360 feet tall. So how long it should take a 2000 pound piece of steel to free-fall through the AIR from the towers' former height.

Distance = 1/2 x Gravity x Time(squared) or 2 x Distance = Gravity x Time(squared)
Time(squared) = (2 x Distance) / Gravity
Time(squared) = 2710 / 32 = 84.7
Time = 9.2

In order to reach the ground in 9.2 seconds, the free-falling object's velocity must be about 295 ft/sec, which is just over 200 mph..
9.2s. from 1350 feet to lobby elevation is free falls ACCELERATION!
9.7 seconds from 1350 feet, 5 TENTHS OF A SECOND slower than free falls 'ACCELERATION', is still very within FREE FALL with all the structural demands. The significance of FREEFALL is NONE of the gravitational energy was available to destroy the supporting structures, ALL converted to MOTION!
Meaning, any deformation through IMPACT FORCED bending, crushing, breaking connections, REMOVAL of structural RESISTANCE, BELOW the mass ACCELERATING, is occurring WITHOUT the assistance of energy from the mass accelerating above.
Simple fact: if any of that building's potential energy went to destroying itself, it would have lost kinetic energy which requires that the building slow in its fall....Since it did fall at free-fall, it wasn't causing itself to collapse.
